Aisha Molake is a Nigerian American writer and visual artist who possesses a wealth of experience in her field. Her artistic endeavors are driven by a profound passion for sharing the invaluable lessons gleaned from her life, fostering empathy for vulnerable groups, and advocating for a diverse representation of African American life.
Born on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, to an American mother and Nigerian father, Aisha's formative years were primarily spent in Columbia, Maryland. It was during this time that she developed a deep affection for writing, fishing, gardening, and the captivating world of turtles.
Aisha's educational journey led her to obtain a bachelor's degree from Bowie State University. Subsequently, she embarked on a transformative chapter in West Africa, where she immersed herself in the realm of radio and television. Here, she played a pivotal role in producing educational programming that aimed to raise awareness about the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Additionally, she served as a tenacious reporter and diligent assistant producer for both local and national news outlets.
In pursuit of further honing her craft, Aisha made the decision to enroll at Johns Hopkins University in 2019. Her unwavering dedication and commitment culminated in the successful completion of a Master of Arts degree in Film and Media.
Currently, Aisha is fervently engaged in the production of her latest endeavor, "Under the Wolf Tree," a screenplay she penned as a student at Johns Hopkins University in 2019. Her creative vision led to her selection as a recipient of the prestigious Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund Fellowship for the 2021-2022 term.
