I'm Aisha Molake, a Nigerian American writer and artist with a deep passion for storytelling. My work is driven by a desire to share meaningful life lessons, foster empathy for vulnerable communities, and advocate for more diverse representation of African American life.

I was born on the South Side of Chicago to an American mother and Nigerian father, but I spent most of my formative years in Columbia, Maryland. That's where I fell in love with writing, fishing, gardening, and developed a lifelong fascination with turtles.

I earned my bachelor's degree from Bowie State University before heading to West Africa, where I worked in radio and television. During that time I helped produce educational programming focused on the United Nations Millennium  Development Goals and worked as a reporter and assistant producer for both local and national news outlets.

In 2019, I decided to further  my education at Johns Hopkins University, where I earned my Master of Arts in Film and Media. While there, I wrote Under The Wolf Tree.

In 2021, I was selected as a Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund fellow. I'm currently bringing Under The Wolf Tree to  life and I

couldn't be more excited about the journey ahead.
